Craig Green’s Latest adidas Capsule Includes The Superstar And More Imaginative Silhouettes_Fashion at Your Feet

Craig Green‘s elaborative sense for design — though at first the collaboration’s most defining feature — has since become more toned down in the context of his adidas releases, the unorthodox shapes surprisingly forgone with the rhythm of his most current capsule. Inclusive of five silhouettes, the pack will invite more tried-and-true classics to undergo reinterpretation, and by the end of it, they all arrive either stitched multiples times over or filmed in glossy patent.

Among the selection, the Superstar is the most instantly recognizable as its classic shell toe and signature shape are reduced little by the added treatment. While the materials are less robust than that of the original, they retain a structure that’s thanks most in part to the stitches that run throughout the shoe, dressing vertically and horizontally in tones of either green or a neutral grey across the black and cream colorway, respectively.

In slight departure, a Rivalry Lo reminiscent creation contrasts in its premium aesthetic, one that is aided by not only a premium patent leather but also a versatile arrangement of color (or lack thereof). The shape of the upper itself is marginally simplified relative to its inspiration as the logo hits at the side are sized down while the overlays are chiseled to cover less of the identically constructed base. Craig Green branding then lays over top at the dubrae, placed in a more central spot unlike the near invisible trefoil that brands above at the tongue.

Finally, the collection rounds off with a love letter to the Mundial silhouette, a barebones soccer cleat that takes quite a few cues from retro style. Here, by Craig Green’s design, the model is stripped down and made minimal as it proffers a full black composition that’s accented by an overstitched toe box, suede overlays, extended tongues, and a gum sole.

Grab a detailed look at the full range below and expect select retailers to see a release on November 7th. An adidas.com launch is likely to coincide.
